Bali - Indonesia, with its tropical climate, offers spectacular scuba diving and snorkeling, often only meters from the beach. The most notable aspects of diving here are the sheer abundance and diversity of marine life as well as the staggering variety of hard and soft corals, of which a few square meters at some sites rivals that of Komodo, Alor, and North Sulawesi (Manado and Bunaken) and also of other Asian countries such as Thailand and The Philippines. Amid this cornucopia of coral lives an equally diverse fish population often giving divers the sense of being inside a tropical reef fish encyclopedia. Bali is also home to a wide variety of pelagics (ocean-dwellers), such as tuna, barracuda, shark, ray (including manta) and, in season, Mola-Mola (sunfish) due to the rich upswellings of the Indian Ocean. There are wrecks at Tulamben (WWII USAT Liberty) and Menjangan (19th century), wall diving (Menjangan, Nusa Penida), Tepekong's Canyon and reef diving aplenty!
