BALI - FLORA AND FAUNA


Lying in the middle of the equator; Bali is part of the Indonesian archipelago. The Indonesian archipelago covers three different zones of flora and fauna localization:

  • The Asian zone
  • The Australian zone
  • The Intermediate zone, that consists of Sulawesi and Sumba.

Lombok strait is the separation zone between the passing of Asian and Australian zones.

Bali is part of the Asian zone, in Indonesian archipelago. This geographical condition makes Bali has various species of unique flora and fauna. Bali rain forest enriched with various kinds of exotic plants such as wild orchid, huge Banyan trees, bamboo, ferns, pines and even mushrooms. Wild and endangered animals in land and in the sea are mostly from the same species as in Java and a bit from Australia, like tiger, Bali sterling, and dolphins. Even the sea gardens offer a fabulous view.
