NEIGHBORING ISLANDS OF BALI


Indonesia is a Republican country with thousand islands; stretches from East to West in the center of the earth's equator; like an emerald necklace. Indonesia lies between the Indian and Pacific ocean. Rich with various ancient cultures and traditions. Indonesia is a tropical country covers with range of mountains' peaks and rain forests with their unique species of floras and faunas spread all over the islands. With the fertility of the volcanic soil, rice paddies and other tropical crops grow fertile in this country. There are hundreds of interesting places to visit and explore.

Some of many favorite tourism destinations are:

LOMBOK
Lombok, the neighbor island of Bali, separated about 54 kilo meters. It takes no more than half an hour by plane from Bali to Mataram the Lombok's capital city on the West coast. Lombok covers land about 80 kilo meters from North to South and 80 kilo meters from East to West. Mostly Lombok's community are Moslem. they called Sasak community. Balinese culture and Hindu elements have also blend in the community; but the majority are Moslem.

Lombok also has beautiful beaches on the South coast like Senggigi beach, Kuta and Tanjung Aan with their calm and beautiful white sand beaches. There are several international hotels such as NOVOTEL near Kuta beach, Sheraton Lombok at Senggigi, Oberoi and many others.

Gunung Rinjani, in the North of the island is one of the highest volcanoes in Indonesia at 3,726 meters above the sea level. A beautiful panoramic view of Gunung Agung on Bali in the clearly early morning could be seen from the top of Gunung Rinjani.

SUMBA
A visit to the undiscovered island of Sumba is also interesting. In less then one hour your plane from Denpasar will reach Waingapu.

TANAH TORAJA
Many visitors combine their stay on Bali with a visit to Tanah Toraja in Sulawesi. An attractive journey, in just a one-hour flight you will reach Ujung Pandang, the capital city. There are a lot of transport possibilities to Rantepao, the center of Tanah Toraja.
